These are the people in your neighborhood

From our local paper, the Ellsworth American in the Thursday April 29th, 2004 edition. Section II, page 11;

ELLSWORTH – A car rear ended a stopped truck at the intersection of Route 3 and Beechland Road Monday because its driver, an Ellsworth woman, advised police she had been praying and did not see the truck.

Police said Billie Curtis, 29, had been driving a 1997 Hyundai Accent, which struck the read of a 1995 GMC pickup truck driven by Gregory Sanner, 34, of Salisbury Cove.

Police estimated $4,500 damage to the car. The truck had no visible damage, police said.

WERU FM Web Stream Test

Shh… Top Secret. The community radio station I volunteer at, WERU 89.9 FM Blue Hill and 102.9 FM Bangor, ME is streaming on the web right now in a ‘top secret’ test run. This is actually streaming from my basement to a company called Streamguys.Com who mirrors it out to up to 10 simultaneous listeners. Their prices are very reasonable compared to other places we’ve tried.

NOTE – This is a test run. This may or may not be the solution WERU sticks with, and this URL may change. Also, since it’s a test run (done by me right now) I only paid the minimum for the 10 simultaneous listeners, so it’s possible you’d get turned away for being listener number 11. It’s also possible that I may reboot the computer that is streaming this, or shut it down to install software upgrades etc, so no promises ok?

BUT.. If you have a chance, check the WERU FM webcast HERE. This 24K stream should work even over dialup connections. Should play right in iTunes on a mac and other common MP3 players on other platforms.

If you have any problems please let me know.

Also, fyi, I’m doing my show this Saturday from 6 AM – 10 AM (EST). I’m going to see if I an automate a capture of the stream of my show and archive it somewhere, but we’ll see.

No idea what I’ll be playing, any requests? 🙂 (Acoustic Folky stuff only, sorry).
