My father the goof

The following is my father’s life update write-up for his college class notes:

“My life goes on in endless song….”, only sometimes it’s the blues.  My wife leaves tomorrow.. after 30 years of a close friendship and 5 years of marriage.   I move on Thursday… across town in Abingdon, Virginia, to a little house that, I found out today, was the carriage house for Col. James White, my grandfather’s great-grandfather.  I love this stuff.   I’m busy compensating for a broken heart.  I just came back from fiddle lessons.  I’m in the heart of Appalachia and this kind of music is all arround me.  I may or may not ever learn to play decently, but I’m having a wonderful time of it.   Lastly, by the time this is published I will either be safely home or lost forever.   I have reservations on May 23rd to fly to Mexico city to buy a 1984 VW Camping bus (sadly, no pop-up roof) I bumped into on the Internet… shades of “Midnight Express” and “Thelma & Louise”….or “Bill & Ted’s Excellent  Adventure”.   I’m still employed full time as an instructional technologist at a nearby college, Emory & Henry.  I love the job, and the college.   Tomorrow is a sad day… but adventure awaits.      Harry
