Letter to the editor

A friend sent me this link; http://www.georgewbush.com/GetActive/WriteNewspapers.aspx?. Yes … a friend of mine sent me a link on George Bush’s website… why? Well go look.. it’s this nice automated system, type in your zip code and it pulls up a list of ALL your local papers. Click on the ones you want and then type in YOUR LETTER in YOUR WORDS with YOUR SUBJECT to send as a letter to the editor to these papers.

So I figured, what the heck. I typed in the text below and got a phone call from one paper in 5 minutes verifying that it was indeed me that sent it. So just ignore the ‘support bush’ logos in the periphery and use the machine against itself 🙂

and now my letter.. sent via georgewbush.com

Legalize Gay Marriage

I applaud the mayor of San Francisco for the bold statement he made last week allowing gays and lesbians to marry. I don’t understand why our president thinks we need to amend the constitution to ‘protect’ marriage. Gays and lesbians are not attacking marriage, they are embracing it. I don’t understand how legalizing marriage so any two consenting adults can say their vows and pledge their love for each other ’til death do they part is a problem for anyone.

I think marriage needs to be “protected” from the likes of Brittany Spears and her 55 hour marriage or from others who don’t respect it as a life long commitment.

I hope Maine joins the many states that are considering recognizing and allowing marriage between any two adults that love each other.

wheresgeorge.com

Ok so my friend Hope pointed me to a really neat site today, wheresgeorge.com.
You enter the serial #’s of the bills in your wallet (and ideally subtly tag the bills with the website URL) and when someone else enters that bill down the road you get notified. So you can track ‘your’ bills as they traverse through the world. Completely useless, but very fun. Now I need to get a rubber stamp to make marking the bills quicker and cleaner 🙂
