WERU

I’ve mentioned before about the local community radio station I volunteer at, so I’ll spare you the long essay. A few things I wanted to mention though

1) We are now OFFICIALLY streaming on the web. This is actually streaming from my basement server, but until a few days ago this was top secret insider trading information, but now the cats out of the bag. You can get to the stream via the WERU Website or go directly there by linking to the stream directly here. Windows folks – You’ll need something other than the default Windows Media Player to listen, perhaps WinAmp or iTunes

2) The Fair this weekend – Well first off, even for you ‘away’ folks they will be broadcasting from the infield stage on Sunday from 11 AM – 6 PM. Some pretty cool performers/speakers will be on there during that time. SONiA, David Mallett, David Barsamian of Alternative Radio, and the band featuring the drummer from the Blue Oyster Cult, the Brain Surgeons. You can read all about it at the web page (that I designed) at http://fair.weru.org/

So for those of you in this area, or interested in a last minute road trip to Maine, come on up, it’s gonna be one heck of a fair. Cheap admission, lots of good music and food.

‘This Land will surely vote for me…’

My friend Chaostime sent me this link to a very funny animation of a parody of Woody Guthrie’s ‘This Land Was Made for You And Me’.

This Land Will Surely Vote For Me

Note – This site is apparently getting hammered and you may need to reload a bunch of times to get through. It’s worth it though. Lots of fun stuff in the background, watch carefully.
