WERU – We Are You Radio

I’ve mentioned a number of times that a volunteer an inordinate amount of time at the local community radio station up here, WERU FM. There was recently an article about them in the Bangor Metro magazine:

When we decided to move up here we had no idea this was in this area. It’s been great being part of the WERU community and they actually have needed my geeky skills to help with setting up podcasting and streaming.

In fact thanks to the streaming you can listen wherever you are. I do a fok show once a month on Saturday mornings but it’s got a great variety of music so whatever your genre, they probably have it.

Anyways, wanted to share the article and plug WERU.

It’s all about trust

I’m going to spare y’all the exact details since I doubt they’d be of interest to anyone not inside my head, but a number of conversations I’ve had today both online and in person have included discussions about ‘Who do you trust?’ and how we assign trust. I’m realizing that I care more about how much I trust & respect an individual or business than I do about just about anything else.

If you assign trust to someone and they are worthy of it then all other things become secondary to that. If you trust a business to sell you something at a fair price then the cost of the item becomes secondary. If you ask someone you trust to do you a favor then you can rely on it being done barring any extenuating circumstances. On a computer business level, if you trust a business has competent tech support and reliable hardware then you dont need to worry about that level of things.

Having places & people you trust to handle things keeps us sane. This allows for some mental decluttering … if a problem can be passed over to a person I trust then I don’t need to worry about it. I can trust that it will be taken care of.

Deep thoughts from the sleep deprived. (that would be a good blog title)

That’s all for now, I’m off to bed.
