Directions to our house
I used Mapquest to generate these directions, and it tends to be pretty accurate for the most part. Below is what it gives fora trip from Portsmouth, NH to Ellsworth, ME.
So, the quick summary is, where ever you’re coming from (assuming you are south of us), you’ll eventually end on I-95. Use I-295 to go through Portland. At exit 45A, hop on I-395 and take the US-1A exit, then follow that road for about 20 miles. I’ll explain the specifics of Ellsworth below

- Take the I-295 N exit- exit number 6A- towards S. PORTLAND/PORTLAND DOWNTOWN. 0.32 miles
- Merge onto I-295 N. 10.68 miles
- I-295 N becomes I-95 N (Portions toll). 120.68 miles
- Take the I-395 exit- exit number 45A- towards US-1A/BANGOR/ME-9/BREWER. 0.33 miles
- Merge onto I-395 E. 4.37 miles
- Take the US-1A E exit- exit number 6A- towards US-1/COASTAL ROUTE/ELLSWORTH/BAR HARBOR. 0.24 miles
- Merge onto WILSON ST. 0.36 miles
- WILSON ST becomes US-1A. 21.65 miles

Ok.. so you followed the above directions and its been about 20 miles on 1A and you’re wondering if you’re there yet. Here’s how to find us. As you are entering Ellsworth, you’ll see six BIG white Oil Tanks coming up on your left (now owned by Dead River Oil). Across from them,on your right, is CHRISTIAN RIDGE ROAD. Take that road road and follow it a half mile until you see our street, Guptill Farm Road on your right. Take that road and go another 1/2 mile down, we are the 6th house on the right (as of this printing, they keep building so don’t bank on that). Number 85. Big beige house, 2 car garage, driveway just after two telephone poles (one leaning against the other), fence attached to the garage. Picture below:
BACKUP DIRECTIONS - If, by some chance you miss the white Irving Oil tanks and the Christian Ridge Road turn off, don’t worry..here’s the backup plan. Keep going until you get to a stop light, there will be a Park on your right. Turn right onto High street, go down the hill, through another light, across the bridge, and go a mile or so until on your right you see Christian Ridge Road. Turn RIGHT on Christian Ridge and follow it for a bit (about 2 or 3 miles) and keep an eye on your left where you will see the blue Guptill Farm Road sign. Follow directions above from this point on.
